Plans And Designs Driven By Purpose And Outcomes

The floor plan is critical to the outcome.

A layout plan for your new Dairy Housing facility is the most critical of all elements to consider.

A roof is just a roof. The floor plan is where all the things for the cows come together.

Every aspect of a floor plan needs justification. What are the key drivers? Have the overall desired outcomes been considered.

At Cowhouse we have many proven plans which can be explained in "how they have been developed", and how they are performing today.

To have independent expert advice in this facet of the development is critical, do not be sold on the plan the neighbour has got!

There is no point in spending money on having plans drawn up by a architect or draughtsman if you have not established the clear parameters and aspects of the project. These are vital for the cows and the operation of the facility.

Once the floor plan has been established, pricing for the facility can be established using a detailed and specific build specification. This can then be brought to the market for pricing.

Cowhouse Ltd prides itself on providing clients with clear, detailed specifications and pricing which are within 2-5% of actual overall build. Our experience in this area is vast and credible.

Plans And Designs Driven By Purpose

Be it a new dairy, animal housing or related infrastructure, plans and designs must be developed to ensure that key drivers and outcome objectives will be met.

Its all very well being mesmerized by builders or suppliers pretty pictures and "ready made" drawings, but will it match your proposed outcomes? Housing cows sounds simple, but to date every project we have been involved with has a focus on a different key driver. Therefore the design needs to accommodate this.

All too often projects are not fully thought through and as such the end product and what it delivers are not what was hoped for.

At Cowhouse Ltd consulting we make it our job to first of all establish clearly with you what it is you need to achieve... once that is clear a design and drawings process can begin.

For starters though, having a round the table discussion with some plans and drawings from existing projects in front of us is a great way to begin.

Plans and drawings are generally owned by the project developer, he or she has paid for them, so they can not just be given to some one else... and your project may need some specifics detailed in a very different manner.

Once we know what you need we can help you get your plans drawn up so that when it comes to putting out the tender you get a very good price and value indication, and can compare apples with apples.

New Open To Air Freestall™

New Open To Air Freestall™

This New Design Is Ticking All The Boxes.

A new concept in housing dairy cows is being promoted by Cowhouse ltd Consulting, Cowhouse Construction Ltd of Timaru and TechniPharm NZ Ltd.

The open to air freestall creates a blend of fully enclosed housing and the open air pasture system.

The model is based on the design experience and information gained from working in many regions of New Zealand and oversees, by dairy expert and consultant Harmen Heesen. As a group of companies we have incorporated many years of experience and design IP into this truly NZ hybrid model of housing.

This design accommodates the very best of housing and the very best of open air farming, yet this controlled environment allows the cows to be protected from the weather when need be and on pasture when can be. This system will greatly help to reduce N leaching. We say 'system' because a dairy housing facility is never a stand alone. The open to air freestall is part of a total system which starts and stops with the cow. Additionally, value is added by supporting the farmer with the initial feasibility and costings, the environment, infrastructure and post completion support. This creates the very best for the cow so she can return the favour and create profit and piece of mind for the farmer.
